Whenever I find myself down in the dumps, this video cheers me up. It’s an excerpt from the VHS component of a 1988 Kodak VCR game entitled, “Isaac Asimov’s ROBOTS.”
I bought the game back in college, based solely on the commercial. If your heart pines for mid-budget ’80s sci-fi, this video will do right by you.
OMG yes! “Assignment: Robot” We had the Clue VHS mystery game when I was a kid and I would just watch the tapes straight through. This also just reminded me of something else I should share with you.
I had the Clue VHS games, too, and something called “Doorways to Adventure” that used a lot of what I assume were public domain black and white film clips. The Clue games were pretty campy, as I recall — which is not to say that “Robots” isn’t, but it’s a little more tongue-in-cheek.Isn’t there one of them where everyone just goes crazy at the end of the tape?
Oh, and so what’s the something else you should share with me?
